Arsenal Surrender Two-Goal Lead as Wolves Snatch Late Draw

Arsenal suffered a damaging setback in the title race after throwing away a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 with bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. In a fixture that demanded control and composure, the Gunners instead left with frustration, dropping points for the second consecutive match and potentially allowing rivals to tighten the gap at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal started with authority. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a well-timed header, ending a 15-match goal drought in emphatic fashion. The visitors dominated possession throughout the first half, controlling 68% of the ball and limiting Wolves to a single effort on target in stoppage time. Yet despite territorial superiority, they failed to extend their narrow lead before the interval.

The second half initially appeared to put the contest beyond doubt. Piero Hincapié doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 56th minute. Though the goal was initially ruled out for offside, VAR intervened to confirm it. At 2-0, Arsenal seemed in complete command.

But the momentum shifted rapidly. Hugo Bueno pulled one back just five minutes later with a superb strike, injecting belief into the home side. Arsenal’s intensity dipped in the final half-hour, and Wolves capitalized deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 94th minute to secure a dramatic equaliser. Tempers flared at the final whistle as a scuffle broke out in midfield, a reflection of Arsenal’s frustration after letting a crucial victory slip away.
