The Golden Heart of Ghana Beats With Real Commercial Energy - Trade Minister

Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has emphasised the government's commitment to implementing decisive reforms to improve the country’s business climate and promote inclusive industrial growth, positioning the private sector at the centre of economic transformation.

Delivering her speech at the opening of the Ashanti Expo 2026, the Minister assured entrepreneurs and investors that government policy would be rooted in supporting enterprise growth, echoeing the President's sentiment that "Ghana is open for business".

"We reaffirm our dedication to creating the conditions on which commerce, agribusiness and industries can thrive".

Her remarks presented the Expo as a tangible extension of this agenda; linking policy reforms directly to market access and investment opportunities.

Beyond regulatory reform, the Minister outlined a deliberate drive towards inclusive industrialisation, emphasising that economic growth must benefit underserved groups.

“Women build homes, communities, and nations. And we cannot afford to leave them behind,” she noted.

She underscored the importance of integrating agribusiness into industrial value chains, signalling a move towards production systems that connect farming, processing, and manufacturing through the Feed The Industry program.

The Minister urged participants to utilise the Expo not only as a marketplace but as a platform for scaling businesses within Ghana and across the continent.

“This expo stands as a model of how national and regional governance should work; aligning visions and pooling resources with a shared purpose,” she said.
