In a joint statement released Thursday, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the Fisheries Commission, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed that the mortality event was first detected by security personnel between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM on April 6, 2026.
